Charter Tech High School For The Performing Arts

Do you love to sing?  The Vocal Department teaches every student how to be the best musician they can be.  From the basics as a freshman to advanced study in successive years, students study vocal technique, intonation, interpretation and musicianship, music theory, musical literature, performance techniques, and sight-singing. There are several performance groups for the students to participate in, ranging from a full concert choir to individual gospel and chamber ensembles.  Performance preparation includes individual vocal coaching, rehearsals and opportunities to sing in many different venues.  Our Vocal Department can be seen singing in throughout the community and has performed as backup choirs for several internationally known singers such as Josh Groban, Michael Crawford and Steve Green.   A select group of students participates each year in the Masterworks Choir Series at Carnegie Hall.  Our goal is to have every student become a complete musician during their four years at chARTer~TECH.
