Charter Tech High School For The Performing Arts

The Theater Arts Department provides an in depth look at the various aspects of theatre while incorporating hands-on experience.  Our teachers have worked collectively for more than thirty years in the business of theatre and their knowledge of professional acting, lighting and sound engineering, and set design and construction bring their real life experience to the classroom.  The Theatre curriculum is both performance and writing intensive.  Activities are designed to help develop self-awareness as well as confidence on the stage and acting techniques.  A variety of performance and analysis materials give students many diverse experiences on stage, as well as, a chance to learn stage production.  The Theatre Arts department is the place to be for young actors!

  • Teacher Paul Decker worked locally in Atlantic City on the pilot episode of NBC’s new drama “Outlaw” with Jimmy Smits.  He also has made 2 commercials.
